MGO and UMF are related but not directly interchangeable. UMF measures multiple authenticity factors; values shown are indicative only.
MGO stands for Methylglyoxal — a naturally occurring compound found in mānuka honey. The number is the minimum mg of MGO per kilogram, independently tested by an MPI-recognised laboratory. 700+ sits in our premium potency tier.
Yes. Every batch is traceable to a specific apiary in Aotearoa New Zealand, harvested by beekeepers we know by name. The batch reference on each jar links back to its origin and certification.
MGO and UMF are related but not interchangeable grading systems. MGO measures methylglyoxal directly; UMF bundles multiple authenticity markers including leptosperin and DHA. We publish MGO because it's the cleanest single number to compare.
Straight off the spoon, stirred into warm (not hot) water with lemon, or layered onto sourdough. Avoid boiling — heat above 40°C degrades the active compounds.
